Scabies Shampoo for Humans or Dogs

Scabies is caused by the parasite Sarcoptes scabei. This parasite thrives well in various parts of the body without the exception of your scalp. Scabies can affect both humans and animals. It has been claimed that poor living conditions such as living in crowded areas or having close skin to skin contact with infected individuals can increase the risk of acquiring this disease.

Symptoms often include the classic itching, which can aggravate especially at night because that is the time that the parasites are active. Scaling and the appearance of crusty skin might also appear in your scalp. This might be mistaken for dandruff when not closely inspected. Pimples can also appear as the normal reaction of your body to the parasite. Rashes can also develop and can even spread to your neck. In case you have a strong allergic reaction to the scabies parasite, sores might be apparent which can be irritating and most of the time painful. If left untreated, infection might surface causing more pain and feverish episodes.

Scalp scabies can be treated in a number of ways. You can apply several scabicidal shampoos over the affected area. Turpentine oil can be diluted with your usual conditioners to help relieve the symptoms. Leave the solution on your scalp overnight and rinse it thoroughly the following day.

Once diagnosed, some dermatologist will prescribe that you use lindane 1 percent shampoo which is formulated for those with scabies. Remember not to use this product in other parts of your body affected with scabies. Use lindane shampoo as per instruction given by your health care provider. Do not use any other condtioner with this product. Your hair must be completely dry before you apply this shampoo on your scalp and hair. Use a pair of latex gloves when you apply the shampoo. Leave it for five minutes, then gradually build lather, afterwards rinse the product thoroughly.

You can also apply sulfur creams. Set up a bath before retiring for the day and then apply the cream all over your body including your scalp. Repeat this process three days in a row. On the fourth day, you can have a regular bath already.

Permetherin is also used to treat scalp scabies, but only adults are supposed to use this product. Take a bath and then apply this cream all over your body, your scalp not excluded. Leave the cream for eight to ten hours and then rinse off thoroughly with water.

Lice soap can also be applied on the scalp to eradicate the presence of mites.

Natural remedies for the treatment of scalp scabies in both humans and dogs include the use of natural oils that should be applied regularly over the affected area.

Tea tree oil has natural antifungal and anti bacterial properties. It is effective when used to treat scabies. Apply the oil over the affected area, but make sure to dilute it with carrier oil as this substance has fairly strong properties.

Another natural oil that you can consider is neem oil. This is a natural remedy that is vastly used to eliminate skin infections. You should apply drops of neem oil over the affected area, twice daily. You can also soak in a warm tub filled with neem oil to soothe the symptoms of scabies especially itching.

Scabies found on humans or dogs can be treated using conditioners and other shampoos. These chemical options are thought to be effective in treating scalp scabies but it can burn a hole in your pockets. Why not consider taking the alternative route and embrace natural remedies instead? Tea tree and neem oil is found in great variety in your surroundings. These are more effective and can provide you with lasting results.

With Natural Anti Scabies Treatments

Scabies may occur around every nook and cranny of your body. It is caused by eyelash mites, hair mites and skin mite eating and pooping in the sore spots of your skin. There are a lot of treatments available, and this article covers just a few of them.

The treatment consists of three components and the first one is the most comprehensive, which involves treatment of the patient. The second is to treat everything that the patient has touched and the third is to treat the people around the patient.

The treatments of scabies requires plenty of time, especially when the illness is sufficiently prolonged. A doctor will often have to use a lot of conviction and diplomacy to get the patient to fully accept treatment, because it involves a large commitment of time and effort. It is not just a quick fix with a pill and cream. It is often harder to get children to agree to treatment.

The average treatment regimen is as follows:
 Have a shower or bath, then the use the first application of a scabicide according to the user manual of the product used. The scabicide remains on the skin while the patient gets dressed with clean clothes.
 After 12 or 24 hours depending on the application scabicide, washing to remove the product and then a final wash if the scabicide used was benzyl benzoate
 Repeat this for 8 days
 No application of scabicide should be redone prior to the check-up on the 8-10th day, so that you can go to your doctor and check the effectiveness of treatment.

The condition of your skin may have improved quickly but this does not mean that your scabies have gone and often the affects of the scabies will not have disappeared. It is going to be 8-10 days before you see any genuine mite reduction.

Whatever the product used, if you have uncomplicated scabies, then the application must be made on the entire body including the soles of the feet, genitalia, hands washing, avoiding accidental rubbing of affected areas with non-affected areas.

There are a lot of scabicides on the market, and here are a few of them:
Benzyl benzoate (Ascabiol) 10% solution, the 125 ml bottle corresponds to the treatment of a person. This solution, which causes a burning sensation, should be applied 2 times for 24 hours in adults, or 12 hours in infants under 2 years (possibly by diluting the product in 50% of the water), and pregnant women.
Pyrethrin has easy handling, application limited to 12 hours but is not recommended for people/patients with asthma. It is considerably more expensive than benzyl benzoate especially if there are multiple members of same family to be treated.
Lindane cream is sometimes used as a cheaper alternative.
Hexachlorocyclohexane (Aphtiria powder) which is used for de-worming and de-miting linen.
Scabiesin (Natural Products) - very effective line of anti scabies products, it includes Body Wash, Body Lotion to kill scabies, Shampoo and hair Conditioner to treat scalp scabies. The Scabiesin also have medicated Body Mask for severe scabies. which is used for de-worming and de-miting linen.
 In case of complications such as eczematisation and super infection they must be treated first by conventional means before considering treatment of scabies.
 If the symptoms are very severe then a person should visit as dermatological hospital and consider some form of isolation.

Treatment will be iterative due to an application three to five times a week for a period of at least three weeks. It is clear that this sort of consistent and unwavering treatment is the only way to eradicate scabies, while avoiding side effects related to treatment. Moreover, the application of anti-scabies medication should be extended to the scalp, and sometimes in the face, and nails. Don’t forget that the mites may get anywhere, you may find eyelash mites, skin mites and hair mites. Iterative sampling is needed if the scabies infection is profuse especially in unusual areas to verify the effectiveness of treatment.

Treatment of linen and bedding is imperative. You should treat all clothing/linen worn/use for/from up to 8 days ago. This includes personal clothing, work materials, towels, sheets, etc. This de-miting should be done by washing at high temperature (60 ° C) or powder coated with an insecticide prior to washing and placed in a sealed bag for over a period of about 48 hours before washing them
